With over a decade of experience in video creation, I’ve tried my fair share of software and tools that claimed to make my job easier, but ultimately fell flat. Below you’ll find a list of my top 5 favourite tools and software that have helped me fast-track my success in the video production industry.

 

#1: Adobe Premiere Pro

When it comes to video editing, Adobe Premiere is the golden standard. I love how seamlessly Premiere integrates with all of Adobe’s other apps such as Audition (for audio correction), and After Effects (for motion graphics). While there is a little bit of a learning curve involved, I believe that it’s worth putting in the time and effort to learn how to use it. It does everything you need it to do and more!

Seeing as music is such an important part of my wedding films, I spent a long time trying out different music licensing platforms and search engines, and eventually came across MusicBed…and oh man, what a game-changer that was! It’s a no-brainer for those of you who are consistently making money as video creators and want to level up in the music department!

#4: Dropbox

When it comes to storing your videos and footage, you can never be too safe — which is why I not only store my videos on multiple hard drives, but I also upload them to Dropbox as an additional safety precaution. I also use Dropbox to share video files, documents, and folders with clients and members of my team. Plus, their app allows me to download my videos and footage straight to my phone, which comes in handy whenever I want to upload video content to Instagram!

#5: Wedflow

When I first started my wedding videography business, I used to share my completed wedding films with clients using Dropbox. This worked totally fine, but I was looking for a more refined and polished way to present my wedding films to my clients that would elevate their overall viewing experience — and that’s when I came across Wedflow! Think of it as an online photo gallery, but for video. What’s great is that it allows you to add your custom branding, deliver multiple video files, and allows your clients to easily share the online gallery with friends and family.
